This distributor was professionally rebuilt with new cap, rotor, points, and condenser. It was then bench tested on a 2.0 fuel injected VW bay bus engine, which ran flawlessly. It was then stored in a sealed plastic bag for a couple of years. It should give you years of excellent service.
