1984 Vanagon Westfalia full Camper For Sale 187,000 miles
For sale 1984 Vanagon Westfalia Camper van. It is an awesome camper and truly off-grid capable. Maintenance records go back to 2004, but the most complete records are from 2007 onward. Garaged since 2015. Below is a summary of Features, Upgrades, Maintenance, and Other Things not included in the price.
Features:
• 1.9L, 84 hp (I don’t think "hp" should be capitalized for this vehicle), original 4 cylinder water cooled boxer engine. Runs strong, 70 mph on the flats, good power in the climbs, and will keep up with 18 wheelers in slow lane.
• 4 speed MANUAL transmission
• ArmStrong steering… that means MANUAL steering, NOT power steering.
• Behr IN DASH air conditioner, works very well, blows cold. I recharge it every 2-3 years.
• American 12VDC cigarette lighter socket AND 12VDC European "motorcycle" socket
• Dometic fridge works on all settings
• Sink and stove fully functional
• Lower bed very comfy
• Pop top fabric original and in very good condition
• Upper "pop top" bed pad in very good condition (my preferred rack when camping)
• All closets, cabinets, drawers, and shelves in place and in good condition.
• All glass in good condition
• Dash, door panels, window screen fabric, seats, finishes are in good shape.

• Various maintenance records back to 2004.
Other things not included in sale price, but you may want to purchase or discuss…
• Engle fridge/freezer fits between the front seats with attached, removable, very nifty, 3D printed cup holder and organizer. This Engle fridge/freezer falls in the "way cool, and necessary" category. Though the Dometic Fridge works, it’s a salt base heat exchanger. It can only cool things 30 degrees below ambient. It works great up to 65 degrees external ambient temperature. Above that, not so much.
• Leveling jacks
• Jumper battery
• Bentley repair and maintenance manual
• First aid kit
• Spare fuel pump (I carry an extra because when it goes out, you are stranded. It is very easy to replace on the road or in the bush)
• Portable stand up shower stall and tub (yes, you can take a hot shower and wash your hair in the van)
• Not included: Solar bag shower and nozzle. They do not make this one anymore. I think it can get too hot and possibly hurt someone, especially youngsters. For liability reasons, I probably cannot/won’t let this go.
• Battery charger, a must for intermittent van use
• Fire extinguisher
• Tire wrench, the old four socket cross kind that can actually remove the lug nuts
• Heavy duty extension cord
• Collapsible water resistant luggage bag that fits in the external luggage bay above the driver and front passenger seats
• Spare hub caps
• Harbor Freight tool kit with sockets, hammer, pliers, screw drivers, hex keys
• Torpedo level so the van is level at campsite
* 3 additional 100W solar panels
* Brand new, never used 100 Amp Hour Odyssey AGM deep discharge battery
