Big price drop for classic 1977 suroof bus Price: 15000
|
Owned since 1984. 2.0 liter fuel injected engine rebuilt 29K miles ago when the clutch was also replaced. Runs great. Smogged in 2024 with exhaust and emission system rebuild. This is a "federal" car with no catalytic converter. California will not allow any mods to the emission control system, even though the addition of a cat would make it run cleaner. Working odometer reads 90,438 miles.
New tires all around including spare. Steering coupler replaced last year. Solid suspension and brakes. Gas gauge sensor and rubber fuel tank neck replaced several years ago. Windshield also replaced several years ago due to "fogging" around the edges.
Recently replaced headliner and interior panels are clean and in great condition. Retractable seat belts are just a few years old, and seat covers are all in good condition (comes with new front covers still in the box). Window seals have all been replaced (along with door and engine compartment seals) and are in very good condition. Interior rubber mats are original and in fairly good condition. Noise damping heavy rubber mat over engine compartment, and noise damping material added to cavities behind interior panels. Older radio with new speakers in front door panels.
Paint and body are in very good condition. Sunroof is without rust and works well; front drain channels need clearing; rear channels drain well. Very minor paint bubbling in a couple of places. Minor surface rust on floor of passenger compartment behind the front seats will sand off easily, or can even be painted as is with Rust-Oleum. Has been in two fender benders, one front left under headlamp, and the other right rear under tail light; both fully repaired. Salvage title due to the latter damage, and my failure to do a better job negotiating with the insurance company.
Everything on this bus works except for the windshield washer & rear window defogger. I have a small array of spare parts, touch-up paint, service manuals, etc., that will go with the bus. All of the repair and service records and receipts since 1984 are also included.
I'm selling because I want more space in my garage (where it has lived for the last dozen years), and because I only drive it a couple of hundred miles a year. This is my last and biggest price drop. If I don't sell it at this price I'll just give it to my son-in-law. Thanks for your interest.
