1995 TDI Cabriolet Price: 1000
|
PRICE IS FIRM.
I first want to mention that the motor in the car is complete but not in running condition. It is priced high or best offer as this is a rare conversion as well as some fun additional upgrades that make it a very unique vehicle. The last cabrio sold with a TDI, all stock otherwise, went for $7900 on thesamba in 2021.
A rare opportunity to get your hands on this specific combination without the headache of persuing a full conversion. From time stamp on original email after rebuild and current registration on plates.. car was built in 2015 and has been sitting since 2018.
3rd owner after conversion and still have the full write up explaining all that was done to the car and where the conversion came from. He fully rebuilt the motor and converted the whole car himself.
Notes from original conversion. 2015;
OEM corrado rims with good tires
Raceland coilovers
Was set up to run airbags with body modification that can allow the frame to lay on the ground. Airlines are still intact.
Nozzles are PP520 Bosio
ECU tuning by Malone (EGR delete and what he calls his stage 2.5).
All hoses were replaced and the N75 valve as well.
Clutch is a VR6 unit brand new at engine build. All local parts came from Halsey and
Armstrong VW. New rod bolts, mains, head, etc.
Has autometer Pyrometer and boost gauge is autometer.
Motor mounts were new at rebuild.
Interior panels came from a 2001 MK3.5 Cabrio.
New convertible top
Dash came from the same car. Rear beam
complete with discs came from the same car.
Seats are out of a Mk4 Beetle, cloth.
Shifter assembly including shift tower in trans is from a Mk4.
AC works, heat works.
There is a molded sub box in the rear
corner made to fit a Sundown 12". Amp is in hidden compartment in the back.
Exhaust is stainless 2" with a severe
rise over the axle from being on bags.
Curt Hitch with flat 4 pin.
As for the current condition of the motor, previous owner (the guy who bought it from the original builder) doesn’t know what happened. His mechanic found plastic in the oil pan so here is my guess as to what happened;
Timing jumped, he had mechanic go through it and found the plastic in the oil pan. Told him the motor was junk. That was that. Probably the plastic oil pickup that degraded in the pan.
I think anyone with the skill to overhaul the motor will find great value in this thing. Original notes from builder also describes every little thing he did when he rebuilt the motor. With some head work and timing assembly gone through, this thing could be up and running in no time.
Serious inquiries can email me with any questions.
