62 Apal VW Coupe Super Rare   Price: best offer
"I DIAMOND IN THE ROUGH"
Almost nobody in the US "VW WORLD" has ever seen or heard of VW like this one!
This is 62' VW APAL Coupe (GOGGLE IT). Styled like a 356 Porsche - Cabrerra -Abarth it is bolted onto a VW bug chassis and uses the mechanicals of a VW bug.
There were only 25 ever made, by world famous fiberglass designer, Edmond Pery in Belgium, in the early '60s.
Made of reinforced fiberglass, the body has NO RUST including the heat channels which were integrated into the body. It seems as solid as when it was made.
As far as I know it had 1 owner. I friend bought it in the early '60s. He has since died and I inherited it. It has 67k and was last driven in 1985 when the engine gave out.
I have the title.
It needs: floorpans , rear window (I was told a Mercedes Coupe fits). engine, brake work, etc.
Basically, a restoration.
A restored '62 APAL COUPE sold for $88,000 in Arizonia.
As far as I know it has never been in an accident.
The APAL can be seen in the PENN STATE area.
