1984 Vanagon Westfalia w/ Solar + Upgrades Price: 15700
|
*Note: If you don't want the solar system, I'm happy to keep and repurpose it, and I'll take off $700 (roughly how much all the components cost me).
Love this van, but time to say goodbye. I recently replaced several parts and had a great VW mechanic clean out and tune up the whole system. It passed smog 2 weeks ago and is registered in CA through May 2026. Most parts on this van have been replaced or upgraded at some point in its lifespan. Here are the most important deets:
--316111 miles on the odometer, but mileage is actually ~318k. Several years ago the odometer stopped working and I drove about 2k miles before I fixed it (it works fine now)
--Gowesty rebuilt 1.9L engine installed at 305k
--Transmission rebuilt at 180k
--16 inch Mercedes wheels (upgraded from stock 14 inch wheels)
--Bilstein HD shocks at 313k
--Alternator & starter at 313k
--Clutch kit at 312k
--Catalytic converter + muffler at 311k
--New battery
--New fuel lines, fuel pump, fuel filter
--New GoWesty instrument cluster kit
--Recent tune up
--Thule locking roof racks; also has a third pair of roof rack mounting plates so you can add another cross bar if you need it
--Kenwood stereo with CD player and Bluetooth
--Swivel seats
Solar system includes:
--1500W AIMS pure sine inverter
--40A Epever MPPT charge controller
--180 watt Suntech solar panel
--Two interstate golf cart batteries that are old and drain pretty quickly, but they’re simple to swap out for new ones. I'm not factoring the batteries into the asking price.
--Switches, wires, fuses, connectors, etc.
