Rebuilt 40hp with 1385, Ported head, and Performance cam with 1.1 rockers. Runs like a good running 1500. plenty of power to get around and climb hills.
Pointless Ignition, and 12v. Best for safety (brighter tail lights!!!)
Drives AMAZING....Nothing else on here like that believe me. I have had several beetles and this one is super special.
Tight suspension with NO BUTCHERY....Original Boge shocks. Ride is Remarkable.
Original Trans in perfect condition. I dont think it has ever been apart. Shifts perfect. all syncros work flawlessly, Quiet as a mouse, No popping out of any gears.
ODO says 12k miles. It might very well be 112. Because the trans is still original and so good.
Probably originally delivered to CA. I have not ordered the birth cert but I would bet Econo motors Riverside. Spent many years in Crestline area Driving around the mountains. Probably not winter driven much because there was No RUST....Very little. Heater channels are original! not holes in Sill plates
Story of the Car. I purchased it originally to keep and drive. Just after I got it and was almost finished restoring it, I got a Rag top then now a 54 early oval. They kind of fell in my lap so I cant keep and maintain them all. So the weakest link is this car. Very unfortunate because it is a really nice keeper. Totally turn key and ready for any long drive to anywhere.
All brake lines hard and soft replaced, Drums are original and in good condition, Suspension is all tight. Steering box replaced with TRW. Tires have good tread and no cracks. (that I could tell) Mostly kept inside and or in a carport. Hubcaps are Brazil not china crap. I believe all the fenders are original RF is from a later year but original.
