Factory UK 1959 RHD bamboo green convertible Price: £89500
|
This is an extremely rare factory spec RHD 1959 Karmann convertible restored over 12 years to the best concourse standard possible.
The spec is as ordered new even with the factory white wall tyres this would have been rare in the UK. It was delivered into Ramsgate in Feb 1959.
The engine is a correct 30hp with a Wolfsburg West Okrasa kit including the camshaft. It has only covered 120 miles since the full restoration.
The hood itself took 100s of hours to complete and is as close to a factory spec you would ever get painstakingly using the factory process.
The interior is completed with German box weave carpet, grey wool headliner is exactly the same material as it would have been, the seats and door cards were made by West Coast Classic Interiors in an exact matching green vinyl I believe only fitted to bamboo green beetles.
The bamboo paint was exactly matched to the original paint that had been covered with the vin plate for 60 years.
I built the car to be a pure fully detailed show car and it has won awards every time it has been displayed taking best in show and class wins at the Volksworld show, Stanford Hall, and classics at the club house where it was awarded best in show beating some beautiful Porsche 356 show cars.
The only changes made to the car are its 12v but you would never know and it runs a fully synchromesh transmission.
Even the semaphores are correct NOS items.
Please feel free to contact to ask any questions.
Reason for sale is I just don’t have the space to keep it and it deserves to be displayed in a private collection.
I happy to help with worldwide shipping.
I don’t think you will find a better 59 in this beautiful spec.
Price is £89,500 UK
