1961 Turkis Beetle, Judson Supercharged!   Price: $18,500
1961 Turkis Beetle, Rock Solid, Matching Numbers, Judson Supercharged!

This very tidy and enjoyable 1961 Beetle has several cool features to note including:

*L380 Turquoise, arguably the favorite Beetle color ever

*"6 Month Only" 1961 Hydrate Green components, Steering Wheel, Turn Signal Switch, Emergency Brake Handle, Shifter, etc.

*Just 3 Owners from new

*Matching Numbers Original-To-The-Car 40hp Engine!

*Judson Supercharger, Rebuilt by Judson guru, George Folchi

*1 Exterior Respray, Interior Paint, under hood, under decklid, original Turkis paint

*Original Interior including Paint, Upholstery, Door Panels, Mohair Headliner, Mats. Carpet replaced with German Square Weave.

*5 New Firestone Bias Ply Tires on correctly restored Original Wheels

*New German Brakes

*Southwind Gas Heater, Runs, but does not produce heat

*Original Owner's Manual

*Much more!

The body and paint are very presentable, the Turkis color is amazing, as we all know! The outside was repainted decades ago and still looks very presentable for a driver. There are normal flaws and small scuffs and dings as we'd expect to see on a vastly original 64 year old Beetle that never saw a restoration. Other details to note include that the hood was replaced long ago with a raised logo hood, we imagine due to the normal hood prop cracking, as there is no evidence of other damage noted. The running board mats were replaced with NOS Como Green units, such a cool bit of period color-coordation that makes these 1961's so lovable. Under the hood you'll notice the original under hood liner and the original wiring cover, too. The car is super solid, no rust in the heater channels, not even any rust in the original battery tray. There is a tiny bit of rust in the rear bumper bracket supports and those spots are shown in the photo gallery link at the bottom of this ad text. Odd that it's there, not like wet rust, just tiny perforation, and a pair of NOS supports come with the car if someone ever chooses to remedy it.

The interior is very original with only the German square weave carpeting having been replaced. The interior paint, upholstery, door panels, mohair headliner, and mats, are original. Take note of the rare original mint green painted seat frames which are part of the color-coordinated scheme on these 1961 Turkis Beetles. Also the original 1961 only rear kick panels with no heater outlets. Testimony to a well-cared for car that was never abused!

Mechanically the car is dialed, runs and drives excellently, and I have several video clips to share to demonstrate that fact. If you don't already follow our Instagram account @holygrailgarage I can text the videos to you if you text my cell phone at (858)366-2549 or via WhatsApp Brendan Finn (858)366-2549. The engine is the original 40hp engine and features the George Folchi restored Judson Supercharger. The rest of the mechanicals are stock including the transaxle, 6 volt electrics with a Optima battery, and all 5 restored wheels are wearing fresh Firestone bias ply tires. The brakes are new German as well. This car fires right up, idles and runs beautifully, and has a bit more pep than stock with the added power from the Judson Supercharger. Fun!

Overall this is a very good looking, great color, rock solid, matching numbers, never abused early Beetle, with lots of originality, and the upgrade of the Judson Supercharger. A very hard car to beat when you're hunting for a respectable example! Thanks!

$18,500

Please note this 1961 is located in St. Petersburg, Florida.
