This jewel was restored in Brazil, with more than 2500 hours of work over more than a year, by one of the most capable companies in the country. In the mechanical part, absolutely everything was rebuilt, with the steering box and front suspension with bearings instead of bushings.
The interior has a rare beauty, incorporating original German Sambas fabrics, imported from the USA. The seams, the finishes, all the details were designed to take you back to the 60s with good taste and harmony. Even the quantity and spacing of screws with stainless steel washers were faithfully reproduced. The carpets are black in the center and green in the cabin and trunk, completing the tasteful package
This vehicle has the desired corridor between the front seats, and the middle seat has been reduced to two seats, allowing full circulation inside the vehicle without opening the doors, exactly as in the original model.
We didn't install curtains or luggage racks because the original Sambas didn't have them, and their installation causes damage to the bodywork. The new owner can do so if he wishes.
Ventilation is guaranteed by the front safari windows and side pop out windows, as well as the canvas ragtop.
The mechanics and electrical are simply perfect. They work the way they left the factory. All systems are new and tight. The original 1500 aircooled engine still uses ignition breaker points, the original generator and voltage regulator.
And finally the bodywork: the work carried out was extremely detailed. Every curve, every corner was worked to look as it left the factory, without bondo to hide defects. Those with technical knowledge can already glimpse this from the photos, but you have to see this car in person to understand what we're talking about. It´s a collection car that you can drive on the streets and go to classic car shows.
