1985 Volkswagen Vanagon. 138k total miles, 40k after a Subaru Conversion done by Further Performance in Minneapolis with a Small Car Performance high-end kit (w/headers). The previous owner had it repainted and only took it to car shows. The tires are Michelin Defenders and have about 10k miles of use. Over the 6 years we have owned it we have put roughly $40k into various upgrades including the conversion (22k alone) and we have all the receipts. We have driven “Moose” to the east-coast and the west coast several times and I would not hesitate to do it again. It has always been garaged, and it is very reliable and has always been professionally maintained.
