1964 VW Notchback 1500 S model - matching numbers Price: €18900

Hello guys,
I'm posting my LHD 1964 Notchback 1500S for sale, straight from hot and sunny Portugal.
Car was originally sold new here in Portugal in August 64, and I believe I'm the 4th owner. It features its stock matching numbers rebuilt engine, with its original dual carb setup.
This was a barn find that I bought back in 2010, it was pretty much complete, but it had the floor pans rotted, the original interior was not salvable, side chrome trim had been removed, and the paint was stained, as it was sitting for nearly 20 years in a warehouse uncovered.
Except for the body/paint that was just lightly polished, everything else (mechanical, electrical and interiors) was stripped and completely restored using NEW or NOS parts where available. At the time it was converted to 12V.
INTERIOR : custom made carpets, custom synthetic leather upholstery interior with TMI padding (front seats).
ENGINE : Full rebuild, 1500 S (high compression stock pistons), double Solex ICT32 carbs, 1600TL muffler and NOS silencer pipe. All cooling tins powder coated in medium gloss black.
SUSPENSION : Stock rebuilt, lowered 1 notch at the rear and 3 notches at the front, 4 gas shocks.
WHEELS : 4 BRM’s 5X15 with 175/65 tyres at the back and 145/65 at the front + 5 stock 5X205 steel wheels with 165/80 tyres and they're original chrome ring and center caps.
SUMMARY : This ins't a perfect showroom car, but it is in a very good condition, honest and reliable car that is in fantastic mechanical shape and fully operational, the looks are good with light patina (some small paint cracks), as it never pretended to look like a fully painted/restored/show car.
It has seen only 5.000 Km(8K miles) since the rebuild, that was for the past 8 years, it is as new, you just have to turn the key and enjoy the ride.
Classic car certified register in Portugal by Museu do Caramulo.
