This Syncro is a bit of a project but not extensive.
After a complete detailed inspection at my mechanics in Portland, OR
Body:
All seam should be done - they are showing signs of rust and some areas have been filled.
The rockers and quarter panels should eventually be replaced - there is surface rust and also some crusty spots.
Mechanically:
the 1.6 Turbo Diesel is super solid and so much life left - not a speedster - but 24-26mpg - recommended to change glow plugs and test turbo
4x4 Functions - both front and rear diffs in working order
Recommended to bleed clutch: potential air in the system
Brakes are solid
Battery showing age currently at 80% performance
Recommended drive belt change
Change fuel hoses
Glow plugs rusty and old - change
Timing Belt service recommended
Minor exhaust leak between flex pipe and resonator
Rear Axles have play in CV joints, boots showing age: new joints and boots
Front axles: recommended new boots
Recommended rear wheel bearings and hubs
Rear wheel cylinders leaking: recommended to replace
Tired original suspension: recommended new shocks, springs, struts.
Interior:
The interior is outstanding and this camping model is unique and functional and in amazing condition.
The roof stands tall and sleeping up top is cozy and comfortable without feeling closed in on.
