1966 Karmann ghia with Teak interior option Price: €35.000
|
For sale: 1966 Karmann ghia in the very rare Teak interior option.
The Karmann ghia type 14 was offered in 1966 with two different interior options. These were pigalle (red) and Teak (brown). These special interior options were only available on the 1966 model and were also optional for the beetle and type 3 cars. Additional to the "normal" interior options these special variations distinguish themselves for the color of the dashboard cover, steering wheel, heater outlets, etc. Basically the whole interior was in either pigalle or teak.
The Teak color was only available for a coupe as this was only fabric! There are only 5 original teak Karmann ghia type 14 left to survive today.
This example is a very early one and probably the first build. It even have some difference towards other teak! I bought this car from the first owner who collect it in Germany before shipping to the US. The car is super original and was never taken apart before started the light restoration. Only a small piece of the passenger side floorpan needed to be welded, The car has 100% original bodypieces.
The car was only driven 26281 km what clerifies it marvelous original condition.
Body was taken off the floorpans and everything was cleaned and repainted. gearbox and engine are all restored. All new rubbers for the buildup
The inside was left untouched as that gives the uniqueness of the car. Seats and doorpanels are 100% origanial and still looks good.
Car is part of my private Karmann ghia collection, but now it’s time to let it go.
The car is registered on a Dutch title and licence plate.
