Ok, after 9 years of beloved ownership we are selling our 1995 T4 Camper. it’s an EVC that we purchased in 2016 in Ventura California where it lived its prior life. We removed the Engine and Transmission and I installed a DUH diesel specific Manual 5 speed gearbox From the Netherlands with a .658 5the gear for lower RPM cruising. A AHU TDI engine from a Jetta in Santa Fe. Along the way we added larger .216 injectors and a VNT 15 turbo, factory top mount intercooler to power the beast throughout the forests and deserts of the West.
It has an ARB awning for shade, a propane furnace for heat, and all the original Winnebago equipment, in working condition. it also comes with a suitcase 110watt solar panel that plugs into the side of the van in a dedicated inlet, with an extension cord to move it around the campsite if you want shade for the van. like many EVC’s it has the Go Westy lift kit spacers and off road tires. The timing belt was changed last year as we had put almost 60k on it since we did the conversion and it runs like a champ. I’ve never gotten less than 25 mpgwith it and have seen 35 mpg on long flat runs through the desert. the ECU is socketed and i have two spare chips if tuning is your thing. its been a very reliable mode of transport for me and my family.
