1991 Vanagon with Tiico Conversion Price: $2000
|
Automatic 3 speed, has had Ticco engine conversion but currently has a knock (see below). Was originally a Tintop but the previous owner converted to pop top (so no bed on top)!
With several key upgrades already done, this is a perfect van for a Subaru conversion! I had this inspected/worked on by Jason Didway at Keep Trucking Garage
Perfect candidate for an engine conversion
The GOOD:
Upgraded stainless coolant lines, New expansion tank, New line to transmission
Replaced fuel sending unit, resealed fuel tank, Replaced fuel lines from engine bay,
Replaced all fuel lines/filter/pump
Radiator fan/radiator working in good condition
New CV joints in front
Relatively new brake pads and drums
Suspension parts not installed by me but look new
Very little rust on the whole van, original burgundy paint with some chipping in front.
The OK:
Transmission was rebuilt at some point by previous owner, has worked perfectly but there seems to be some slop in the CV axel. Did a flush of ATF/gear oil and didn’t observe any mixing in ~1000 miles
No rear interior
Water lines to heater core should be replaced; did regular coolant pressure checks with no issues
Upper control bushings are squeaking
The bad:
Engine developed a knock, sounds like rod knock. Replaced all plugs/wires/air/fuel parts and knock is still present. Likely engine needs replacement/conversion.
