A very rare find in today's market a super clean 1997 Volkswagen GTI VR6 Drivers Edition. 157k miles. The GTI has always been garaged. I purchased the car three years ago from the previous owner who has owned it for over 22 years.
The GTI has been well taken care of and shows very well. It has been slightly modified from its original state, has FK Coilovers, new strut mounts and bearings, Porsche Cup 1 reps wheels with 205- 40-17 tires, both front wheel bearings, wheel alignment and a fresh oil & filter changed (10/25) H&R wheel adapters the stock wheels will also come with the car, Techtonics tuning performance chip along with their 2.5 inch exhaust system with one resonator, 42 draft design test pipe, cold, air intake, european front spoiler, badgeless grille, Samco silicone coolant hoses, 42 draft design crack pipe, Gruvenparts billet aluminum alternator pulley, new water pump, engine and transmission mounts. Have a factory OEM window regulator for the driver side, which has not been installed. The window still works fine just makes a little noise. The secondary air injection system has been removed on the vehicle I run historic plates on the car. I do have the stock cat. I have a binder full of receipts.
The GTI has no rust, has ice cold A/C the heater core unfortunately has been bypassed. I didn't want to have the entire dash removed to replace it. I really don't drive the vehicle and only took it to some cars and coffee in the summertime I have owned it for three years and only put 1000 miles on it. I have three other vehicles and a company car. It just sits in the corner of my garage. In 2005 the previous owner told me he hit a small animal and had to replace the front grill and spoiler which shows on the Carfax. In 2011 he had the vehicle repainted in the factory color but added some pearl, the paint job looks very good, but there are some clearcoat peeling on the top edge of the doors. Front wheel bearings started making some noise. I can't confirm that the timing chains and guides have been done. The previous owner thought they have not been.
When the car is driven, it gets tons of compliments. It really stands out, gets thumbs up all the time. I'm a long time Volkswagen owner and have been around Volkswagen scene for many years and take great pride in keeping them in great shape.
