1967 Karman Ghia Price: 20,000.00
|
This 1967 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia coupe was built on November 24, 1966 and left the factory for delivery to California six days later. A cosmetic refurbishment was completed in 2011 and included a bare-metal repaint in Porsche Signal Red, as well as a reupholstered interior. Power comes from a replacement 1.6L flat-four linked to a 4-speed manual transaxle, and modifications include an aftermarket stereo, Moto-Lita steering wheel, and a Vintage Speed shifter. This Karmann Ghia is now being offered with an owner's manual, recent receipts, photographs of the repaint, a certificate from the VW museum, and a clean Texas title.
Originally finished in Neptune Blue, the car was stripped to bare metal in 2011 and received bodywork before being repainted in Porsche Signal Red.
The car retains its stock chrome bumper overriders, lower side trim, and exterior badging. The 15" steel wheels wear chrome wheel covers and Nexen Jupiter SB802 whitewall tires. 1967 saw the introduction of a dual-circuit braking system.
The seats and door panels have been refinished in custom two-tone red and black vinyl sourced from Sewfine, and gray squareweave carpets are covered by Coco mats. The metal dash fascia matches the exterior and is topped with a black dashpad. A leather-wrapped Moto-Lita steering wheel, Wolfsburg-crest lap belts, Vintage Speed Sport Shifter, and aftermarket stereo have been added.
The 90-mph VDO speedometer, fuel gauge, and clock were refreshed in 2011. Approximately 69k miles are now shown on the odometer. True mileage is unknown.
The 1.6-liter flat-four is a replacement unit that was installed by a previous owner. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a 4-speed manual transmission.
A folder of service records is included, as are the owner's manual, a certificate from the VW museum, and a local car show trophy.
The above was done before we bought it.
Since we have had it we have maintained it. We replaced ball joints and tie rods. Exhaust system replaced. Rear torsion bars. Rear brakes. Regular tune ups.
