Long-Time Owner Porsche 356 A T2 Project for Sale
This car was aqua-blasted and structurally restored by a restorer in Belgium, who unfortunately did not finish the job. It took me a few years to get the car back. The work that was completed was done well: the inner structure repairs are finished, though some detail work is still needed. The outer body panels still need to be fitted. All welding was carried out on a Celette frame with jigs, which is included in the sale. The Celette frame and molds (front, torsion tube, and engine hoop) were made by a machinist using original Celette specifications.
A Certificate from Reuter with the car's build date and options is included, along with the Porsche Kardex showing the original engine and gearbox numbers. This is an early 1958 car (built 02/58) with German paperwork and VIN #103000. You can find this VIN listed in the 356A Registry under my name. Originally, the car was a standard 1600 (60 HP), finished in silver with a red interior and tan carpet.
The car comes with a large number of body parts to complete it, including:
• Front nose panel
• Rear panel
• New front fenders
• Restored hood
• Used rear fenders
• Engine lid
• Two good doors and one new Dansk right door
• Plus a long list of smaller parts: jack points, seat rails, front and rear hinges, bumper brackets, rear bumper, door frames, etc.
A good used front windshield and rear quarter glass are also included.
Currently, everything is stored in a clean, dry location. To get the full picture, it's best to see the car and parts in person.
Parts come from several well-known suppliers such as Karmann Connection, original Porsche parts, Dansk (only the one door), Restoration Design, Joma, Simonson, and PR Service (Essex).
Mechanical components:
The front suspension and brake components are included. These parts have been sandblasted but not yet painted. The drums are correct for the car and usable. All front components were checked and are straight. For the rear, drive shafts and brake plates are included, but no drums or gearbox.
For the engine, I have a good industrial engine case with internal parts, cooling system, and carburetors for this car. There are more cylinder heads than needed for one engine. None of the mechanical parts have been tested, only visually inspected. The steering column, steering box, and a set of new reproduction wheels are also included.
This is a project car being sold as-is. Please review the pictures for a partial overview. The best way is to visit in person or call me for a more detailed description of the condition and parts.
I am not a Porsche 356 dealer—this is my personal car that I was unable to finish. Serious offers only, please. If you're familiar with the 356 hobby, you'll know what this car is and what's involved.
If needed, I can help arrange transport, shipping, and packing of all the parts. And I have a shipping company that can ship to the major ports in the United States if needed
