1951 Porsche 356 Pre-A Split-Window Coupe – Very early production model, supplied by D'Ieteren.
In 1950, D'Ieteren signed an import contract with Porsche as its fourth importer in a non-German country. In 1961, D'Ieteren received permission to assemble its own cars near Brussels because Porsche Germany lacked sufficient production capacity. This example was therefore imported but not assembled in Belgium.
The car is very cool and has that characteristic split-window (Geteilte Frontscheibe, actually a stopgap solution because it was very difficult and expensive to make curved windows), a legendary specification, especially since it was only in production for a short time.
- Imported and supplied by D'Ieteren;
- Built during Porsche's first full year of production in Stuttgart;
- Characteristic Pre-A design with pointed roofline and minimalist dashboard;
- Early interior with unique, period-correct details;
- Lightweight construction and a VW-based chassis, refined by Porsche engineering;
- Iconic slim bumpers, hand-formed body panels and components;
- Split-window models from this era are becoming increasingly rare and remain an excellent investment in a difficult market;
This car comes from a historically important chapter in Porsche's development — ideal for collectors, at historic events or in classic car rallies.
A truly rare opportunity to own an original piece of Porsche's early (production) history.
