1973 Bay Window Bus Price: 18000
|
I have too many VWs and not enough space. Bus was "taken down to its frame" but is "redone but not restored." Considerable refurbishment included replacing the original 1.7-liter Type 4 engine with an aftermarket-build 2.1-liter Type 1 engine, along with a later Type 1 independent rear suspension transaxle from Wright Gearbox in California. The replacement powertrain has under 800 miles and "runs amazingly well," he says. The blue Bus also got a full body re-model with new windows and seals and rust repair to the battery tray and windshield. The seller says all that work was done by Bruno Enterprises, a VW and Porsche air-cooled specialist in Spokane Valley, Washington. The Bus then got a new paint job from Maaco. Its most recent work included a tune-up and oil change.
