Your bus is actually a standard not a kombi. They both have 11 windows, but a kombi doesn't have interior panels or two tone paint. The next time you stop by, I'll show you all the differences on my 65 kombi.
I hope you don't mind me posting a few pics of the interior.
Now compare that to the interior of my kombi. My bus had a camper kit added, but the cargo area is primered and yours has white paint. My bus also has no headliner and the dash/front passenger area is painted the same as the exterior.

I have an question, as you all can see my long panel is wrinkled up and i figured i could just replace the whole thing with a new panel but now the more i look at it the more i think i can save it. My concern is how to straighten the panel back? Can anyone give me advices? It would be awesome to save the og metal and the color. |
There are several methods to massaging a panel back. I would research shrinking discs and stud welders. I have used a shrinking disc with hammer/dolly work and have been real happy with the results. But with that said, the shrinking disc will require paint removal. Good luck that looks like a pretty good challenge.

Please, please, please post pictures as you try to massage that panel back to straight. It would be most impressive if you could manage to do it. |

I have all the tools needed to straighten this up so I'm set. However ill probably do this as my last priority on my list since this will be the biggest challenge of this project. _________________ 58 beetle AKA Black Beauty http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=496780&highlight=black+beauty

Oh man Id love to see the repair of the long panel. Video would be tops. The pimp my ride guy over in austraila did that. Loved his videos. You might check him out. He had the video in fast forward half the time so you really could get a good mental handle on what it was like to do the work he did. _________________ Waiting for santa to drop off funky green. somethings up with the flashing of the lights. Either your 9 pin box is taking a dump or someting else is wrong. The flashing lights dont stay off for anywhere near the "on time". It does flash but Id say it will get worse. _________________ Waiting for santa to drop off funky green. I can wish can't I???? |
