So I've gotten a new throttle cable for my 70 baywindow from wolfsburgwest and am trying to adjust the cable freeplay. I know there's 2 holes in the floor for the original pedal stop. However mines gone and even with the cable adjusted all the way loose, at full throttle the pedal still doesn't hit the floor. My concern is that overtime, at full throttle the cable will eventually pull itself apart as there's no freeplay. Hope I'm explaining this enough. If there was a stopon the floor it may allow jist enough to keep the cable from getting banjo tight. Other than the aftermarket pedal stops, any ideas?. Put a bolt and jam nut on the pedal to allow it to bottom out b4 the cable gets tight? I need ideas. |

Why not just fit the original part?
If you are a starving student, a block of wood and two screws from underneath can do the trick. _________________ Current Fleet:

So this pops in after the insulation and rubber mats are in place? _________________ Current Fleet:

I like the carriage bolt idea. I just needed something temporary to use to do a few shakedown runs and to go thru inspection. I'll order the right part on my next order soon. |

If you point that folded bit of metal down at the floor .. its a stop.. for some reason some people fold them back.
If it is present, then simply set up the throttle cable with some slack so that with the pedal down hard, the carburettor is at wide open throttle. _________________ Ancient vehicles and vessels
