never never never
take 'free' anything. Always pay at least $1
(or whatever you local currency is)
Get a bill of sale approved by you local municipality

BTDT, burned at the stake..

Don't think this is free...ad says (it may have been edited) -

Quote:
sold whole or in part or open in exchanges I have 2 engines and two transmissions many more parts to sell

That ain't free..... "will sell in part or whole".

There's a couple up in Mt Shasta area, check the Siskiyou County craigslist. A bus and a tiptop I think.

Duncan made a post the other day.... since deleted, no ads in the forums...... and he posted a classified.

https://www.thesamba.com/vw/classifieds/detail.php?id=2647189

Part of me thinks that this engine simply had a spark plug hole repair the blow out.

This might be a good deal to get into a van cheap or a good parts van.

Just a thought.........

Poor thing has been sitting with windows missing. Likely nothing in the interior is salvageable Sad .

I have been tempted but the images are pretty scary. I am going to try to look at it in person.

He has increased his price to 2k lol. New pics. I asked to take a look at it. I’m just wanting it for replacement front panels. I feel like $500 is reasonable for having to tow it home.

Defiantly think $500 is more than fair. If you end up getting it I would love to buy that big emblemed round head light grille off of it!

$700 for a Syncro body and engine in PA. No drivetrain but looks like many useable body panels, glass and interior pieces.

I bought that engine & the ECU. The Charcoal interior was still there when I went. No real Syncro parts though.

and I sold that van. lol. It was definitely a $900 van but that didn't stop 45+ people from messaging me. It went quickly and i hope the new owner gets it back on the road like he plans to.
