| My 60 panel has which I’m pretty sure all original glass. Has sekurit every where except front windshields are Delog. |

Tim, is that the piece from your 57' Kombi? That's a cool one! |
Yes, 1957 Kombi. All of the glass is Sigla, even the windshields which could have been replaced at some point.
There are no pinholes anywhere near the two snowflakes. It has to be a defect in the plastic. I'd agree with heat being an agent in the creation. The bus sat outside in the high Mojave Desert for many years- Littlerock, CA, home of the EZ Camper.

Resurrecting an old thread.
I have seen no discussion of date codes on any of the glass.
While re installing glass on the 306 Kombi, I came across this stamping on the edge of the glass.
Appears to me to be a date code. It read 12 U 9
Any insight on this?
As another data point to the general discussion, unmolested Sept 58 Kombi has a mixture of
SIGLA
AS-1
and
SIGLA
AS-1
D06
glass all around No pattern as to which windows have which logo with the possible exception of both popouts are D 06. _________________ The greatest obstacle to discovery is not ignorance, but the illusion of knowledge

Does anyone know if the slider glass share the same dimensions? Can I use a Sekurit glass as a pattern for a Sigla slider? _________________ BUS BOYZ |

Yes
Original glass is 5mm thick and most replacement glass available now (here at least) is 6mm.
I used 6mm glass in the kombi with original seals and it fit fine.
Might be a little tight with new seals?
Just something to be aware of. _________________ The greatest obstacle to discovery is not ignorance, but the illusion of knowledge

Thanks Riff Raff. Yes I’ve been looking for 5mm laminated glass and have only found tempered glass in 5mm. I wasn’t t sure if the overall outside shape was exactly the same, Sekurit vs Sigla. So now I can take the Sekurit to the glass shop and have them copy it, minus the holes. _________________ BUS BOYZ |

I've got most of the securit glass from a 15w euro, there's side glass, door glass, rear corner glass and hatch glass. Pretty sure the safaris are securit too and these are laminated, were the special order euro windshields securit, been trying to work out the glass for years. |

The window opening is your best bet if you do not have a piece of example glass handy. Use a piece of cardboard to trace it out. Then someone should be able to give you the top to bottom dimension. Say just for example that measurement is 6 mm more than your tracing, then add 3mm all the way around to your template. _________________ In Stereo, Where Available! |

Correct measurements from a glazer:
Notes taken from both an OG surviving windscreen and a re-cut that was in my bus more than 30 years.
