We now have new 1967-only Type 3 winders.

I'm hoping we can make the '66 only knob as well. Then we'll be set on winders... _________________ 1963 Notchback - Ruby Red

On my 64 T-34 I used a pair of those machined (for a bug) aluminum ones to rebuild/replace the knobs. Worked great, even if they weren't correct (the OE ones crumbled the first time I used them). They were the same style as the headlight switch knobs. On my 65 Notch, that's what I used on it (the ivory knobs), since the knobs were gone, but the handles themselves were like new (from Texas). The key was finding the correct size and threaded screw to replace the brass shaft that went inside the knob. I don't remember what I used, as it was 20 years ago that I did them (M5 by 18 mm?) and a drop of loctite to keep them from coming off. _________________ Bob 65 Notch S with Sunroof

Been a few months but this is a cool update. We are pretty much out of original gas tanks. It seems a lot of people need a "good" tank. In January we received a sample late model Type 3 tank for 1968-1973 LHD models. After some adjustments it was approved for production. They are coated and feature a return pipe for fuel injection. The one photographed is plugged for carb use. Should be here by end of May.
Here's the sample:
Some pretty product photos:

The filler pipe stub end isn't oval correct? 68 only I think is oval. Just asking as I'll be looking for one of those for a 70 and it uses a round fill pipe stub.
Otherwise the tank looks good. _________________ Bob 65 Notch S with Sunroof

Yes, '68 is a one year only tank with the oval inlet, but if you need a tank this will work. _________________ 1963 Notchback - Ruby Red

Right on! Fuel tanks are hard to come by.
I think I cleaned mine out enough but time will tell.

+1 to Erik's comment. Mine is patched and sealed which is not the same as a good tank. _________________ Ossipon

How about a proper diameter fuel tank feed pipe for the late model fuel injected type 3's to fit that late model fuel tank? |

Just plug the rear filler pipe, and add the front bent tube. The tank itself looks complete enough to do some mods to make it an early tank. _________________ Bob 65 Notch S with Sunroof
