Even at $30k someone got a great deal. It needs some work but looks pretty solid.
The presentation could have been better and maybe the seller would have gotten more.

A double slider is fun. Great ventilation, an open door at the kitchen if converted to a camper, easier entry/exit if used to transport people.

This will be interesting. It was bid to $39,250 in January 2022 but didn't meet reserve. I wonder if it will be bid to over $30K this time. Maybe $33.9K.

Three bidders battled it up to $35K, 10.8% less than the top bid in 2022. My $33.9K was pretty close.

Here's another "Same BaT Van, Second BaT Auction" comp:

- 2021 sale price = $14K
https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1984-volkswagen-vanagon-westfalia-13/

- 2024 sale price = $9.2K with 2K additional miles and some work for a 34% price decrease
https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1984-volkswagen-vanagon-16/

FWIW.

1987 Syncro Westfalia, 2.1L WBX/manual - only 36K mostly factory original, garage kept, rust free. This one could set a BaT high water mark for the model:

^^ Yeppers - $72K for a virtually unmolested original - the money is there for the right offering.

Being a make-the-glass-laugh fanatic, my usual go-to is Sprayway.

For the occasional all-'round, inside and out deep clean it's Allen's double strength cleaning vinegar in a bowl with warm water.

White paper towel, always!
