The ones from Allexpress look great except there seems to be an external mounting loop on the lens case -- can't tell if it's removable (to fit the projektzwo housing) or if it needs to be filed off or something to fit ?

Well, it does look like the lens itself will fit if removed and placed in the old lens case.

I had these 80's vintage Cibie "Airport" fogs and had been looking at them for the past few daze wondering what to do with them.
This morning I opened my Projektzwo fog light box and discovered that the Cibie fit almost perfectly. They are shallower depth then the original Hella fogs, but come out a little bit more in front.
The mounting screw holes where wider so a quick re-drilling to test fit and adding some drain holes along the bottom.

They will need a rtv sealent around the backside edge of the glass as the reflector is open to the air. The Cibie housing uses a metal frame over the glass to screw it to the back cover so I kept that frame on the glass to protect it.

The rock guard is a "Dick Cepek" and doesn't look like it fits because I tried the long mounting tabs. The shorter tabs brought the guard into a perfect position down lower in-line and closer with the opening. No picture of that yet.
So the plan is to plastic dip the short mount tabs for black color and possibly pop-rivit them to the original metal frame of the Cibies and bend them around the wire grid for s definitely secure fit.

The Cibie use an "H2" bulb which I will try to replace with a LED so I can use them as a DRL

If you can find the lenses only you might get them for a fair price, but the complete fog light with housing is expensive as they are vintage and Cibie's which makes them a quality lamp.

I found a clear set on ebay for $100.00, but since I have a spare set of ambers I didn't need them.
I believe they might also go by the name of Cibie "Iodes", but you'll have to check size on that.

Otiswesty,

Can you comment on the quality, installation, fitment, light pattern, etc.? These are on my list but I haven't pulled the trigger...

Hi,
If anyone is still looking, I found this:

Projektzwo case + fog lights
https://www.mmt3tuning.com/product-page/vw-t3-project-two-style-fog-lights-1

On the main site they have a link to Projektzwo compatible fog lights, but link isn't working: https://www.mmt3tuning.com/

I'll be removing my terrapodz tonight. I just got my '86 Westy and they have a few LED's out on the drivers side (only 3 of them are lit). Instead of messing with them, I'm just removing them (they aren't really my taste anyways).
I'll likely post them up in the classifieds once I get them removed. Figured I'd give the heads up.

I have 100w high beams in bus Depot E-codes, pretty happy with my highway lighting.

Does anyone have a recommendation for an LED that fits in the Projekt Zwo holder?

I would like to have a very bright LED flood light there.
I don't think I need a fog cutoff - mainly want close-in flood light for offroad etc.

Sodo - I think those are original Projek lenses you have. I've been trying to find a LED replacement bulb without success for years.
I used to have that 3M clear plastic lens cover on mine but the light would get real hot and I didn't want to go cutting vents in the back of $$$ original Projektzwos!

I have a set of these MMT3 lights which I bought in Dec 2023.
I sold all of my PZ fog light bits when I sold the Westy in 2018.

I had planned to mount these new lights early last year, but my T3 pick up was tragically crushed by a very large tree. Lucky for me, I replaced the T3 with a similar single cab and the fogs will be going on it as soon as the weather improves. The quality of these repops seems very good which is encouraging, more feedback to follow.

I mounted the MMT3 lights yesterday. One of the upper tabs broke off when mounting, kind of disapointing.
I'll email the MMT3 shop and see what they say. Probably would have been best to warm them up in the hot sun when mounting. The plastic is rather thin where it pulled through.
I'll probably call Terrawagen about their lights. They're in town here in Portland and it looks like a well thought out solution.

I'm sure the Terrawagen are better quality than the Turkish ones.
But I do prefer the grille integration of the Projektzwo style, Terrawagen ones are straight edge by the grille.

I installed the MMT3 lights probably 3 years, no problems when doing so (used rivnuts in the mounting holes); however, the mounting tabs from both lights have now broken on their own, probably due to either vibration or sunlight (or both). The lights still stay put due to being held in place by the turning light assembly on the corner.

When new, the MMT3 lights truly look and work great, but now I’m looking at options. I think there is another manufacturer in the UK (Slaughterhouse Customs) that sells similar lights, but I was looking in their website and it seems the mounting tabs are very thin also (perhaps are the same MNT3 lights?).

I might disassemble and try to glue a reinforcement to the mounting tabs in the meantime.

I used to sell the MMT3 lights. I stopped selling them for multiple problems, like you had. Tabs were breaking off, lenses were falling out of the lamps, parts were broken in shipping due to extremely poor packaging, etc. And the worst part? The manufacturer would not cover the issue. I ended up throwing about $5000 worth of product in the trash.
