Seems my tarp idea for the sand rail is a failure…

The forecast is for above freezing temperatures around noon for the next couple days so it is time to get the Buggy out of the snow before the freeze/thaw cycles ruin something.
First I had to dig out access to the battery in the sand rail to boost the tractor... Then dig enough snow away from the front to hook up a tow strap.
Lifting it out.
Then the tarp comes off and I dug out the pulleys and belt so the ice and snow would not flip the belt off when it started. Two pumps on the throttle and she was running nice.
Left it running to warm up a bit while I dug out the seats and peddles for a trip around the yard.
In the garage overnight to melt off the rest of the snow and dry it all out.
Today it gets an oil change, tires pumped up, a romp around the "hood" and put away in the hay shed. _________________ Our cars get old, we get old but driving an old VW never gets old! |

To be clear, only the Beetle is mine. It is sitting at my mechanic's shop. |
