Wow! That black low-lite Coupe is/was parked about 7 miles for my home, yet I haven't visited the Hyman Ltd dealer showroom lately to look at anything. Sure looks nice...

Will be interesting to see how much this one goes for. Slightly modded, kinda like my 70. I think mine is in better shape, doesn't have the nose damage, has original seats, and not as much rust. Interesting to see.

Do you guys feel that BAT is still the best place to sell a Ghia? I sold a Beetle on BAT years ago, and it was a good experience. I have a very original Polar '63 Ghia convertible that I'm considering sending to BAT. Prices there have certainly fallen, but I guess that's just the market.

I'd say prices have dropped off a bit for our Ghia's.
The well heeled crowd are still spending for exceptional cars no matter the make. There aren't to many "exceptional" Ghia's showing up as of late unless you include the recent lowlight that was a no sale at $91,251.
Regular guys that might have had a few extra $'s left in their IRA's are generally not spending on frivolous VW's.
The rest are looking for deals.
I think I'd wait if you can. Then again......
There was the "Flaired Fender" silver one that sold for over $50k Confused

I'd like to wait. But you know how it goes. My friend has offered me a 356 car that I've had my eye on for a while.

I can’t believe that guy passed on $11k for that roached out lowlight. Projects are hard to sell these days and that one is a heck of an expensive project at that.
Ghia prices like all cars nearly are down since Covid but still up compared to the time before Covid. If you look at the graph BAT provides they’ve been holding steady over the past couple years. Buses and Beetles are down big time though.

It’s listed here now at $19k. I guess the guy doesn’t really want to sell it.

Sort of weird to copy the BaT description so it's sort of in the 3rd person but it does have a lot of the details

I still believe that BAT is the best venue to sell a Ghia now even though the market has shifted downward recently. It seems that buyers don’t trust sellers on all of the other sites so they submit lowball offers. Serious buyers and collectors looking for quality Ghia’s are still out there especially if the Ghia’s are early convertibles (58-67) are solid and have desirable color combinations. I would not list it as a “no reserve” but would consider listing it with a comfortable and reasonable reserve.

From current owner.
"hi i’m the owner of the car. i purchased it for my wife to use in camden maine during the summer. she loves it but while she can drive it on the flats here in PA camden features small scale parking on extreme grades.simply put the fear of drifting into parked Gwagon or more simply has overwhelmed her. hence i need to find a fun car with an automatic. unfortunately this vw has set the bar for understated elegance and performance fun. This is the only reason for the short time of ownership. it looks and runs perfectly."

...and it won't be on the market again for a very long time as I've lusted after this example ever since I first saw it a month after completion when I was still in school.

Anybody need a '58 project? Laughing

Nice car. Is that the one John Jones did a while back?
