Replacing glass in a Manx clone windshield

I have a Thunderbug, Manx replica and was wondering if anybody has taken the windshield frame in to a glass shopped had just the glass replaced? Sick of looking through the crack that some idiot started with a BB gun.

Any glass shop that can cut laminated safety glass should be able to do it....

The typical fiberglass buggy windshield is pretty simple stuff. Removing the frame from the car is the hardest part.

I removed the glass from the frame, dropped off the broken glass at the glass shop and they used the old glass as a template to cut a new piece. I put it all back together myself.

Thanks for the tips. I'll pull the frame, which I installed after paint and FG repair, and take it in to a glass shop so they have the old windshield for a template like you guys suggested. Thank you for the help.
