My Fastback sags in the rear on the drivers side by about 1.5 inches. I understand that this is due to the asymetrical loading over the years coupled with fatigue in the torsion rod. When jacked up in the rear the front sits level.
I have increased preload on the rear drivers side torsion rod by increasing the angle of the spring plate by 1.7 deg, from 23 to 24.7 deg. This temporairly improved the sag, but with additional driving the sag has returned.
Which approach is best to resolve this problem:
I could replace the torsion rods, however the only new ones I can find are 26mm in diameter for off road use, so I expect that they will stiffen the ride.
I could use the EMPI coil overs adjusted asymetrically, however this would stress the shock mounts and I am not impressed with the quality nor level of refinement of the EMPI product.

I'd probably replace both sides if I were doing it. That way they both "age" the same. That's the deal with them, they sag as they age. _________________ Bob 65 Notch S with Sunroof
