Here are some updates from this weeks rotation...

More work on straightening the decklid.

Jason didn't like the way the passenger side mud door was fitting so he cut into the fender and adjusted it with the mud door in place to get the proper fit.

The body went back on the pan again this rotation and here are some glamor shots.

Then it was on to the headlight assemblies. I purchased these out of the classifieds as Jason deemed mine not usable.

I was missing a couple of the hinge covers so Jason whipped a those up.

The torsion bar access covers need a little love.

Lastly, I asked Jason to do a little side job. I needed a little shelf for my tool box. I sent Jason a little video with a crude card board mockup and he whipped up this piece with spot welds, bead rolling and a hanging lip. As always Jason exceeds my expectations with his work ethic and fabrication skills!

Some good progress - looking good with the body back on for now.

Those torsion bar covers look to fit really well. Making the plates to go on the back is neat too - I bought a pair of repro ones and sent them back as they were so domed the stud didn't protrude through to get a nut on. Rolling Eyes I found some originals in the end.

^^^ Hey there^^^ so these had the same struggles. I had to take them to the stump and using a crack in the stump I stuck the threaded stud in so I could hammer them flatter. Had to do that several times to get the corrected. Then once that was done the weld on the stud was built up so much the inside washers would ride on it before it suck down to the body so I had to carefully grind the weld down on each one.

This latest stump is from a massive Oak that came down on my property recently. If I had to guess I would say it was around a 100 years old.

I was happy to save a piece of its history for the shop and years to come.
