Scored these at the swaps yesterday. Cleaning up nice!

I've seen these on bugs, KGs and type-3s. What is the correct way to mount these on my 67 type-3? Brackets or direct to the bumper?

Also, I'd like to get new gaskets. Not finding them.

This squishy foam rubber gasket material, cut to length, might be made to work (might be a bit too large). Just have the gap at the bottom.

There should also be a rubber plug for the wire in the mounting stem. Normally these just bolt onto the top of the bumper. What I did was make a "U" shaped bracket and used a stainless steel carriage bolt to mount mine under the bumper for a cleaner look.
The gasket you have is the seal for the lense to housing. Maybe ISP carries them, or Wolfsburg West, or maybe another VW parts supplier, as those lights were used on several models and with different lenses (red for a fog light for example). I hope this helps.

It does. Thanks.

I hadn't thought of mounting them under the bumper.

Max, how low is your rear bumper? I would hate to see you drag them off over speed bumps or steep driveways, just a thought.

Not that low. Still thinking about the two options.

Advantage to mounting it below: no holes drilled in my bumper.

Advantage to mounting it above: no bracket.
