I live in Australia and wondered if anybody on Samba in Ozz had bought a Stainless Steel bumper from Vietnam and who they dealt with and was it satisfactory?

Howdy ...

Many posts about thinness &/or I'll fit.
See feed back thread.

Best option is ole school factory refurbished but protected on the inside.

Good luck ... stay safe

I bought the US Spec 1974 style bumper for my Beetle from PTT Bumper. No complaints, way heavier than other aftermarket and still shine 2 years later.

How dry are you and how much sea salt do you get?

I'm in Michigan on the coast of Lake Huron. So no salt form the water but lots of salt in the air from winter roads. I can tell you my chrome bumpers were constantly rusting, these ones do not.

Just installed a set of these for a customer. These are top quality parts that fit well. They are way thicker than most aftermarket, even the premium brands. They spine like a new nickel, yes they were expensive but they come with hardware and bumper brackets I would ask if you can buy them without the brackets and possibly the hardware as the heads are oversized and I don’t care for the look. They do not have the black strip but it was cheap enough for 3/4” black tape from man with the gray truck.
If you care for your car and are tired of aftermarket crap. Then these are for you.

I have a set of these on my '74 Super. They used photographs and measurement from my original bumpers. What showed up was an identical copy to my own, and just as thick.

My only complaints were/are:

1. One of the bumpers they sent had about a quart of it on one side that wasn't polished the same way as the rest and it was a visible difference in sunlight. They were kind of dismissive of this and it required a fair amount of time to get it taken care of.

2. Being a polished stainless steel, it tends to mar easily, and polishing it back to pristine can be a bit of work.
