looks like there's F150 mufflers for that are "round" and would work but have the inlet and outlet offset. seem to cost around $150 and for $40 more you can get a vanagon MagnaFlow that fits. so... meh. but i'd be interested too in the original thread. i might not be seeing the correct one on image searches. _________________ -dan

There are 3 Walker models available available from Rockauto for the 96 F-150. Two 7 inch and one 6 inch round. |

I run some variation of 80s ford/chevy 6 or 7 in $40 muffler on my 1.8T vanagon and it's nice and quiet..
which I very much prefer while traveling and arriving/departing campgrounds.
those jackasses with loud mufflers camping can suck a hard rock.. _________________

I was thinking about the f-150 bre100-5061 muffler from AutoZone for $70 and a lifetime warranty.
A little more than some, but the others are all like 1 to 3 year warranty. _________________ '89 Westy - EJ25/22 Frank 4.44 5mt

Does the F150 muffler bolt right up or does it require cutting and welding? _________________ '87 Syncro Ferric Oxyhydroxide Superleggera Edition

l think they require welding, either to a flange, or to everything else to create that perfect one piece exhaust l see too often under folks vans

Yes. You'll need to weld on a flange for the cat side. And maybe for the tail pipe too depending on what you choose. _________________ Dave O

Ah, ok, so cut the flange off the old exhaust and then weld it onto the F150 muffler. The Westy's exhaust makes the Titanic look showroom fresh. _________________ '87 Syncro Ferric Oxyhydroxide Superleggera Edition

This seems to be a 7" diameter muffler. I need a 6"... |
ya, saw that later - the 100-1741 is the 6" (walker 22382)

and this is the walker heavy duty version in 6"
