i bought another partial roll up took kit today . it has 3 undamaged original tools , a hub cap puller and some miscellaneous stuff . i mostly got it for the fabric roll . these older upholstery fabric ones i dont find much these days so i jumped on this one right when i saw it ..... i already bought the Rust Stain remover off amazon today in anticipation ..... here is what i got to work with . im sure i have enough original tools here to complete it properly .

so these are my before pics here .... ill update when its in hand .

i think it looks a lot better now . some of the rust in the fabric was so bad it was like metal - rock hard so i let the rust remover work on it before i started to massage the fabric , after over an hour i added some dawn dish soap swished it around n let it soak for a hour more . rinse rinse rinse and its already dry its like 90 degrees outside so i set it out under the sun for a bit and its dry . i need some cotton webbing for a new tie cord from hobby lobby , a few stitches and it will be looking pretty good ...... none of the tools pictured came with it i bought it stricktly for the fabric cover ......i think its looking pretty good , i just painted the jack bar today so its not shown , its still wet .

it turned out good enough for me . the fabric is thin in places and has a hole already , i dont try n press my luck to much with old fabric like this trying to get every stain out , thats near impossible . i have cleaned up quite a few of these similarly , the dump soap n rust solution was like MUD !!!

the fabric doesnt rust its the tools inside under damp conditions , so i try my best to remove any rust , maybe clean oil the tools , paint jack bars to help minimize any rust coming back . and keep it DRY !!!
