My vote would be The m’s, but don’t rule out others. I just put a set of the evo 8 in mine. Totally different driving. I would also look at the Audi S lines or the ford ST too.

I think I am going for the M. I did look at the Recaro from other vehicles but the arm rests are the issue. I don't feel like dealing with sourcing them and having them wrapped in matching material.

izzydog. - there's some guys in the UK and EU that recondition and customize Recaros. You may want to see if you can buy some off them.

Djkeev - they are almost the same seat. The M has adjustable thigh support.

I ended up picking up the Ms at Van Cafe. I will report back with an update about the headrests in 3-6 months when I receive them.

The Specialist is (was) available in S, M, and L. Small, Medium, and Large. The small(S) dimensionaly is very close to the stock Vanagon seat at the base. The medium(M) has an adjustable base that when in the short possition is longer that the S.

The S and M both have the flatter base and the L is taller and would not be a great option is a tall van.

All three sizes can be equiped with arm rests.

Here is a diagram that might help.

Recaro Automotive filed for bankruptcy last year. Both GoWesty and VanCafe have removed Recaro seats from their sites. I hope that things recovery and these seats become available again.
