An interesting setup using the stock bumper I found doing the google
Only problem is the stock bumper is pretty thin
I like some of the Brazilian push bars, they suit the shape of the body better than the hurst

Yes, you can actually make those from old cattle crossings. They call it the arroo arroo bumper bar. And yes, Mario and his family are making them, in Cleveland I think. I understand that the new model comes with small wheelie wheels under them to keep the nose from digging into the ground when braking on rough roads. Without them the roos and cattle tended to get too high up on the arroo arroo bumper bar. One guy had a roo try to punch him thru the windshield. They don't work with armadillos though. They hop too high when they sproing.

This is where I’m at so far, 1.5”sch40 pipe and 4”wide plate, and 1.5” square tube
Bolts into the stock bumper bolt holes.
The lights are just stuck on with magnets in the picture, and I moved the front euro plate to the bottom of the bar
Easy to make a spare tire mount if we want to hang it on the front, and easy to climb up and strap the canoe down to the rack,

Looks good! We use ours as a ladder to access the luggage rack bag where we keep our chairs and other gear. _________________ *******************************

15 years ago I had a Roo Bar made locally. The welder tried hard but his skills were limited. I sold the Roo Bar a few years later.
I am one that thought that a Hurst bumper on a Bay looked weird.
Now I am in the middle of installing Hurst repro on our Bay. Bought it from a guy in Belgium. I will let you know how it goes. _________________ Larry in OB
