|
|
Hi group!
We recently brought this 1976 bus home. None of the lights on fuse two are working, but the lights on fuse one work fine. I tried swapping fuse one and two and it made no difference. Looking for advice on what to check next.

Welcome!
After you clean up the tabs in the fuse box the fuses clip in to (especially the inner edges of the olse in them) report back, it should make a difference. But I also see what might be some funny business with the wire connections that are visible through the gap in the fuse box plastic, let's see the back of it please. _________________ Rust NEVER sleeps and stock never goes out of style.

Thanks, I’ll clean the tabs and take a photo as soon as I can get out to the garage again. |

also buy a vom if you haven't gotten one. That way you can measure voltages. Or make a 12V light tester so you can chase voltage. _________________ "Most people don't know what they're doing, and a lot of them are really good at it." - George Carlin |

I recommend junking the fuses that look like they have zinc strips and buying ones that have brass strips. Use a tiny amount of dielectric grease on the ends where the fuses contact the fuse holder. Spinning the fuses several revolutions once every year or so can cut down on problems as well.
The wiring from the #2 fuse to the marker lights runs near the starting battery and is thus subject to corrosion. You need to make sure the grounds for the lights are functioning well. |

We got them working. I thought it was due to cleaning, but I wonder if it’s because there was a wire loose to the positive terminal on the battery. I was hoping to link the photos you requested of the fusebox, but I’m having trouble with the upload on samba. |

There was a loose cable to the positive terminal of the battery. I believe that’s what sorted the parking lights. They are working again. Thank you. |
