Good morning,
I found some euro bumpers that were on a 1959 bug and when I started cleaning them i noticed a stamp on the back “made in Brazil” along with 4 characters numbers. Would anyone know if they are original I can’t seem to find any other ones to compare to.

The original bumpers on a '59 would be German, especially if it is a European car. They would have a VW stamp or LMB stamp.
I suspect that the fenders have just been replaced at some point in the car's life. |

TERGAL was a brazilian aftermarket bumper brand back in the 80's and 90's.

Somewhat related to bumpers, but something I just found out... The bolts that hold the overriders onto american-style bumpers were M10 up till 1959, and in 1960 they were M8.
I am using the part manuals for this discovery, and the actual date of switchover may be better determined by the Progressive Refinements data.
All I can say is my original rear bumper overriders have M10 ('58 sedan) and the suspected replacement front bumper has M8.
It's interesting that the hardware kits that most dealers sell cover the date range from '54-'67... which cannot possibly be true |

So I think I have found the answer to my own questions about the inner rim colours for 58 deluxe cars. I think some clarification should be made on the list of colours to paint things in this channel.
It turns out that L83 Silver white is only one of the "white" colours that were used on the inner portion of the rim. This list shows which white is used for which body colour:
BODY - RIM
L335 Capri - L82 Silver White
L41 Black - L81 Parchment White
L245 Light Bronze - L87 Pearl White
L334 Glacier Blue - L82 Silver White
L351 Coral Red - L277 Silver Beige
L240 Agave - L87 Pearl White
L243 Diamond Grey - L87 Pearl White
L87 Pearl White was definitely the most used colour, but not the only colour.

So I have been narrowing down the paint codes for my 58 Coral sedan, and the wheel colours seems to have some conflicts.
According to this thread, the correct inner wheel colour is L83 Silver White, but every piece of documentation (I have found) says the correct color is L277 Silver Beige.
There is very little original paint on my rims to view, the several coats of other colours on top do not give up their secrets readily. I would probably call the colour underneath everything closer to a white than beige
What have you done on your wheels. Did anyone ever get L277 matched closely to another more common colour?
