If you’d print some more LED holders and offer them for sale I’d buy one. |

Installed one size over door pin. Drove out and installed new pin with air hammer. Used WW pin and reamer. Easier than I thought but happy it’s done.

Was this done due to a loose hinge? My driver’s side hinge is a bit wonky. Wondering if this helped. _________________ 1966 Volkswagen 1300 Sedan, 1641 cm³, 12 volt conversion, L456 Ruby Red, Platinum leatherette. |

Stockholm- yes exactly. Hold the half of the hinge that attaches to the A pillar. If there is play it needs replaced. I tried a straight up same pin and there was still play, so I went to one oversize and it’s now nice and tight. Bought the pin and reamer at Wolfsburg West. Good luck _________________ 67 zenith blue sunroof

Thanks Far Rider! I need to look into this, for sure. I’m tired of having the door fly open on bumpy right turns.
I don’t have an air hammer, but might be able to borrow one. I’m just weary about messing up the paint. _________________ 1966 Volkswagen 1300 Sedan, 1641 cm³, 12 volt conversion, L456 Ruby Red, Platinum leatherette. |

Installed engine decklid seal. Thanks to Chris Vallone, again, it went pretty easy. I had been trying to snake it thru until I saw Chris tip on installing it just by tucking it in as you go around. I let the rubber sit in the sun for a couple of hours and it went in like butter. _________________ 67 zenith blue sunroof

Started reassembling the door glass with new rubber. Installed the old trim with new hardware. Clearanced the bellhousing for the 200mm flywheel. Installed engine bay and frunk seals. |

Stripped the spare rim and painted to match the other four. I had to use an air hammer to break the bead on the petrified bias ply. |

I installed my first windshield. Didn't break! I have the headliner started, I should finish this week!
The back glass rubber does not fit the windshield. Ask me how I know! |

I jetted my carb down for the 5700 ft difference in elevation. _________________ “If you care for a thing long enough, it takes on a life of its own, doesn't it? Mending old things, preserving them, looking after them – on some level there's no rational grounds for it.”

Hi guys,
Today I kind of fixed my wiring. I'm new to this so I know it still needs to be done better. I had used white wiring to patch the ones that were not connected.
I ordered wiring that looks close the original and tried to fix it up.

Nice work for someone who's new to such tasks. How do you like the solder seal heat shrink butt splice connectors? I usually use the double crimp connectors and heat shrink for such connections, but it gets pretty tricky using the crimper especially where there isn't much space to work. I ordered a sampler box of the kind you used. They look like they'd make a pretty solid, well sealed connection and would be a lot easier use than the double crimp style.
Where did you order the wires?? They're mighty close to the originals if not a dead match. It's always helpful if you can stay with the same wire colors as shown in the wiring diagrams. _________________ Tom

Thank you Tom! I ordered the wiring from vintage connections website:

The heat shrink butt splice connectors work really good, if you see the pictures, they look a little burned it's because I used a lighter. I think they'll come up nicer with a heatshrink gun. |

Thanks for the link!
An inexpensive hair dryer will do pretty well, but may take a bit longer. You might want to ditch the lighter method if you're going to continue doing wire upgrades in close proximity to the gas tank ... just a thought. _________________ Tom

Started adding new insulation. Used fat mat, bought on Amazon-$70. I think it was 64 sq ft and was enough to do the rear shelf, side panels , doors , roof section (mines a ragtop) and front side panels. Also using some underlayment felt. It’s a pain working in there, lots of body contortions required. Can’t wait to do the headliner. Also following Chris Vallones installation guides on YouTube. _________________ 67 zenith blue sunroof
