I’ve been doing a lot of cutting back of my panelvan. Is there a resource that explains what all the cables and pipes are?
This is what mine looks like

Also, are the pipes relatively straightforward to remove, or if im replacing the top hat front beam, would it be easier to cut around the main pole like this:

Keep in mind: the big pipe in the middle is the shift rod tunnel. It needs to be “spot on”; so if you remove it, be accurate when reinstalling.

Thanks guys.
I think I’ll play it safe and cut the beam like in the picture.

the smaller tubes carry cables for the heater, park brake and throttle cable,if you must weld them ,try not to burn thru them leave a rough spot inside the tube,it can cause cable failure, and one tube is for vacuum to the brake booster,it must not leak.

That’s good knowledge. I noticed the smaller tubes had been lightly spot welded to the original beam. I’ll be as careful as possible.
