Working on a cartrailer is pretty good. Its about 18” above the ground.
Could definitely get it unbolted and drug out.
Good time to learn the ratchet-strap method!
To drive it away you’d need a spare trans and a couple more hours of daylight. _________________

| I was just wondering when this was going to happen. Glad I checked today. I usually work 3am-12pm. I might come in early so at least I can drive out and catch the tail end of the meet-up. I'll be in the red German fire department syncro. I had a Mansi FI system installed 2 years ago. If anybody was interested in this FI replacement, then they can check it out in person. |

Me to. If was just wind or just rain I would have made it. But 3 hours each way in a storm driving up from Portland would be a drag. _________________ Keep on Busin'

This was my thought as well.
Even after considering your gracious offer last week. I couldn't see myself driving all that way in nasty weather.
If my van was out of the shop, I might have considered the drive. But, I needed to be back in time for my granddaughters birthday dinner. _________________ I have learned over the years.

I'm only 1/2 hr away. If the rain let's up I'll go, but it doesn't look likely.
The forecast does drop to 40% rain at noon from the current 95% @ 9 am. _________________ '89 Westy - EJ25/22 Frank 4.44 5mt

I’ve been there on rainy days and theres always been enough of a break to enjoy it. Sometimes even sun-breaks. But I’m only an hour away.
I will have some pretty cool Syncro shirts if anyone is interested. _________________

Thank you Hugo, for sponsoring another wonderful event! It is always great to meet and re-meet my T3 cousins and get new ideas.
For those that missed it - the Sun stayed out for most of the event and a good time was had by all
I'll be there next year! _________________ '90 White Westy ("White Lightning")

Thanks to everybody that braved the elements and showed up to the Meetup! Weather looked nasty yesterday and early morning today, and I told my wife "If 10 vans show up, it will be amazing!"
Well, at least 37 vans showed up, which blew my mind, and even better, the weather cooperated for 3 hrs (with even some sunshine in between) so we all had a great time. There were many Vanagons, a couple of Bay Windows, at least 2 Eurovans and 3 ID.Buzz (2 with a camper conversion), so a healthy mix (we just missed some T1, but those are rightfully garage queens, and the weather wasn't nice to take them out).
As usual, time flew talking to folks, checking vans and having a good time. Some folks brought propane rings, which added a nice camping touch to the event. We brought hot cocoa, and some other folks brought other goodies to share. Hopefully we'll do it again next year, if so, it will be the 15th time, aka "la quinceañeras", so we'll bring a cake to celebrate.
Below are several of the many pictures I took - as usual, my wife takes the best pics (will be the first batch) so I have to compensate with quantity. Please add any pictures you may have. Until next year! _________________ 87 Syncro Westy EJ25 ("Tardis")

As usual, everybody interiors are very interesting, always end up with new ideas. I might need a second van to implement more ideas...

| I had to drive up right after work. Got there a little late, but there were plenty of vans left to check out. There was a perfect weather window for the meet-up. Dark, ominous clouds, but no rain. I left just at the right time. I got 3 block out of Marymoor and it started pouring. Glad to see another van with the Mansi FI conversion. Didn't get to talk to the owner about their impressions about it. |
