Earlier pics show dove blue under the black paint, but like my truck, here may be a lot of new panels that would make a patchwork. It is possible to sppt-match an aged paint and finish new panels with that mix and blend it all together. Definitely a skill... and iaint talking those 'patina' cars where someone applies 3 layers of paint and randomly uses a sander to make it look "cool." I've seen a few cars where you couldn't tell where the new paint was unless you looked very closely.
Next question would be - do you repaint the inside as well? I still vote for get it running now, drive it, worry about paint after. Don't want it to become one of those projects where chasing perfection means it never hits the road for years.

Well now that the Binz is at my mechanic’s shop for a new running gear install all I have to look at is my garage wall art!

Hey it’s more of a Binz than I will ever own, plus it’ll be worth it when it’s done. _________________ Looking for anything from Hal Casey Motors out of Hamburg New York, from license plate surrounds to matchbooks.

That Binz is WAY more rare than a 23, plus Bobo isn’t ever leaving again! I learned my lesson the hard way there. Oddly enough way back after Bobo was stolen it’s what led me to meeting Kelly Brown. _________________ Looking for anything from Hal Casey Motors out of Hamburg New York, from license plate surrounds to matchbooks.

That's interesting! How did you get your 23 window (Bobo) back after it got stolen? How did it lead you to meet Kelly Brown? I had a 63 VW Bug stolen 30 years ago and never saw it again...

I don’t want to hijack your story here. PM sent though. I told the story up to how Bobo lead me to Kelly and your bus up to when I lost track of where it went. _________________ Looking for anything from Hal Casey Motors out of Hamburg New York, from license plate surrounds to matchbooks.

| Let's vote! Should I keep the roof original patina with the original dove blue or sand it down and paint it the wanabe dove blue L31 of today to match the rest of the Binz? |
I love original paint and I love patina. I'd be very tempted to keep that roof as-is after some cleanup with CLR/oven cleaner. If you paint the rest of the bus in something like a 70% or 80% gloss finish, which is closer to an original finish, I think the patina roof could look really good. _________________ RIP HBB
