Just went through the search I may have missed a post but im looking for the conversion wiring diagram for the 74- externally regulated alternators when switching to the new internally regulated unit could some one point me in the right direction?
Hopefully this post will make it easier for others to find in the future when upgrading their failed alternator or nla regulator _________________ 1959 Dormobile

Existing B+ wire to the screw terminal and Red D+ wire to the slide on terminal. Remove the old regulator.

Here's another pic from Speedy Jim's site that shows the external VW in the lower left and how the blue #61 (GEN lamp wire) needs to be extended to reach the D+ terminal at the alternator.
The most common/easy way to do this is to repurpose the green DF wire from the external VR harness. The green wire is already running from below the left rear seat all the way to the alternator. Clip the green wire off at the connectors at each end of the 3-wire harness. Add a butt connector below the rear seat to it can extend the #61 blue wire. Add a 1/4" push on connector at the alternator end. Connect the wire to the D+ terminal. The other wires in the harness are not used.
The heavy gauge B+ wire should already come together below the left rear seat (usually using a large white rectangular junction) with the #30 wire from the battery and the #30 wire that runs to the front. No change needed here. _________________ AshMan40
