bruce, no. that is not as the body arrived. i was unable to get the actual photo of the body being delivered, on the flatbed. todd and i looked all over for it. i know he has it and so does he. as soon as it resurfaces, ill post it. the thing that sucks about not finding the pic, is that, it clearly shows the passenger side-rear quarter panel where the gold-leaf/metalflake pinstriping logo was. but without it, i suck! lol |

snotchback,,, the bars on the floorpan, as far as i can tell, are just seat frame bottoms just laying inside the car. i doubt they are anything else. |

all i know is that the bug that todd got was VERY INTERESTING, and, that it has very unique details that really make you say , "hmm"... the front axle, the way the body was cut out, the goldflake/leafing pinstriping, the fact that the guy they bought it from told them it was an "inch pincher"...... maybe for some reason, there is a parallel universe where the inch pincher ended up with an alternate history and somehow found its way to this place. I SWEAR I AINT MAKING THIS STUFF UP!!!! lol |

you know what,,?? weather or not the bug that todd bought is/was/could have been, the inch pincher, it still MUST HAVE had some kind of significant history in the whole vw racing history.
NOW HERE IS SOMETHING ELSE TO PONDER, DISSECT, ANALYZE, RESEARCH, INVESTIGATE, PROBE, MEASURE, WEIGH, AND COME TO SOME KIND OF DEFINATIVE ANSWER...........
just who owned, built, raced, and eventually retired an oval window race car, with straight axle, hollowed out body, minimal roll cage, fiberglass empi decklid, ,,,,, then allowed it to live its life in someones backyard for about ten years as a dog house, then, end up being delivered on the back of that vw carhauler in the early-mid eightys...... during the 60's and 70's,, how many cars were there like this??? does anybody know? |

Are you talking about the "GNOME"? |
Or what some refer to as T-Rex. _________________ GFK
