Hi all, looking for the best repop one-eyed duck or a nice original. Any leads? The bus is a 59 mango. Is there an early and late style to these? Further has anyone bought some WW early disengagers? Any comment about thier quality or should I cry once and get some original ones?
Cheers

I bought the early wiper disconnects from Wolfgang, but I think they are the same as WW. If they are, they are an excellent reproduction. Very faithful to the originals. _________________ "My biggest worry is that when I die, my wife will sell all my parts for what I told her I paid for them"-Jon

In the Safari Discussion FAQ thread on the site, someone mentioned there are early and late 1-eyed ducks but no detailed information was provided. _________________ How to Post Photos

I think the early one-eyed duck may have a metal sleeve in the screw opening and the latter one does not? |

Compared to your picture Everett, most of the repops Ive seen have concave shoulders from the level of the screw hole up where they should be straight. (see photo)
Also some have larger "wiper holding holes" where originals are just a horizontal slot right?
Thanks Cru for your encouraging words on the disengagers. _________________ 58Euro 23 343208 The Ultimate Zimblewinder Machine.

gallery says this one above is original. See the shape is more rounded in the upper section, not concave like this one below

Could it be that the original is just bowed out from years of being used, while the one below (with the metal sleeve) hasn't been crushed, and maybe has what was the original shape? |

Barndoor disengagers have a threaded brass part about as long as the bracket.
55-64 disengagers have a shorter shaft & threaded brass section (as shown above). I've read of some people lengthening this later style to suit barndoor longer length requirements.
Here's barndoor ones:
