My name is Daniela and this is the story of my very first VW split Bus!
Someone posted pictures of this bus on a facebook page back in September 2013, I showed interest on it, but so did everyone else, so in my mind I gave up on the idea of owning it!
To my surprise on around December 2013 the seller contacted me and ask if I was still interested on the bus, we agreed on a fair price and a deposit was sent to seller, he also agreed to hold the bus until summer as this was was sitting on icy Montana at the time, here are the first pictures I saw of the bus!

Here are the pictures when snow melted.
Notice this last picture half of the wheel it was buried on permafrost, they had to break the ice all around it to finally release it!

| The (front) seats are present and the dash looks unmolested with maybe even the stock radio. You may be ahead of the curve already. If the OG mid and rear seats are there, maybe a home run! |

Congratulations! Our buses are almost twins (W/T Sea Blue 13w) but you have the 6 pop out window M-code. They are very similar in before condition- right down to the rivet holes for the former side scoops! _________________

Nice bus! Tell me I'm not the only one who puckered when I saw that piece of trim with those errant nails silhouetted against that nice headliner? |

I'll say it first- that is the nicest original bus to came out of Montana in a long time. It helps that it wasn't advertised here- or it would be 20k after the Big Sky - USD asking price conversion. I still don't understand what's going on up there as of late- especially with the CL crowd. It's already a home run and another at-bat. _________________

WOW! I'm excited to see this one cleaned up. I hope its going to stay original paint. _________________ and take the kids for instance "Are we going in the Volkswagen bus?" and they say "Yay!" and clap their hands and if it's a glorious day you can slide the sunroof back and let a little of the glory in and all of a sudden, it stops looking funny.

Same with mine...even the rivet holes. Except, mine's a '67 (and not a W/T) _________________ Looking for a correct 1967 rear seat

Awesome find! I have a sea blue bus as well, but mine was very incomplete. I agree with previous comments. Keep it original everything, make it a running driving bus and enjoy! Congratulations on your new bus! _________________ Leroux's Autowerks “like us on fb”

Watch the classifieds on here. I see in D-Rick's post above that he's looking for aero papyrus panels that I just sold about two weeks ago (kicks and door panels). I also sold a complete bulkhead, and a long. I still have a few for sale. My goal in buying up any aero papyrus panel I could find (they're very hard to find) was to get a nice OG looking interior. As you can see by your seats, the original aero papyrus material didn't weather very well. Nobody reproduces it either. I did quite a bit of research and found vinyl that matches what faded aero papyrus looks like to recover the seats with. Didn't really want to go "new" but if you're actually going to sit on it, you need new. It's made by a company called Esprit. The colors are PEF067 - Teal and PEF003 Alabaster White:

The story on this bus is that it was purchased in 1966, port of entry WA.
Blown engine and just sat on a field since 1974, only 8 years on the road! I want to believe that the 81,569 on the speedo are original miles.
Thank you all for your comments, yes, it will definitely keep it's original paint!
Thanks Ken Shapiro for the info on the seat materials, I will look into that.
Bus came with both front walk thru seats and rear seat (need luggage bar) but no middle seat, I have already purchase a new repro seat frame
Bus came with most Aero Papyrus panels, on my way to pick up bus to Montana we attended a VW show in CO, and we found the long side panel, and the rear seat kick panel as well.
Front Blue mat was there but was missing the rear one, I found that one at Sacramento Bugorama last year and payed $100.00 for it |

Nice find!
The last bus I bought off facebook was a pile! (but I knew it was)
I believe the odometer to be correct. My 63 was on the road about 9 years and has about the same miles and it was a service bus.
I look forward to the refresh
Looks like original paint. Hopefully it will stay that way. That paint will buff out like new! |

That's going to clean up very nice. Great find!... congratulations!
Did you check the engine # yet & see if it jives with VIN/build month?
(numbers in the table linked below show the last number produced that month)

If so... you've go a great candidate to really preserve.
That cab floor looks amazing!
