I say yes, put an alert out. It's called VanAlert. Not VWVanAlert.

Agreed. I’ve submitted free campsites and no population on the app

People post on it but this could be a great database. I used it while broken down in philly this week

The app is not broken...

The info is populated into our database manually. By me.

When you submit I do explained it take a little but for it to get populated. We had a huge influx of submissions in the past month and I'm trying to catch up.

Just added about 30 driveway camp hosts. I had a few more and some repair shops/squad members to update next. Camp sites get last priority unfortunately

My apologies. I have to add people manually so it does take a little bit plus I was going through the original list of rescue squad members. I'll get you added this week.

You know...we need some window decals for this great app.

Something along these lines maybe.
-----------------------------------------
"We're Looking for YOU!
logo
Protected by VANALERT"
-----------------------------------------

Maybe even have contest for the design?

Wondering if that might help lowering our insurances?

I like this idea!

Cannot hurt at all.

"Steal this bus and 1000's of VW Bus cult members will be on the lookout for YOU!"

I just wanted to give you mad props on creating this app.

Wish I had it for my West coast trip 2 weeks ago for the camp site section.

I had to rent a 85 Vanagon but now looking to become part of the family and searching for my own

Just got on and signed up for the van alert app. It’s awesome, everyone who is on samba that doesn’t have it should. Don’t know why I didn’t get it sooner.

Reviving this thread with a controversy.... To remind folks to get the awesome VanAlert app!

So it looks like Canada is a dangerous place for vans!

Image may have been reduced in size. Click image to view fullscreen.

.... For the rest of the story check out the recoverd tab which has like 15 USA (San Fran/Seattle) vans for each CN van.

Maybe the CN vans don't get recovered as frequently?

This last CN van that chimed my VanAlert notification was from a rental outfit with NO theft deterrent....if I was renting Westys id have a gps tracer in them.

.... Also AMAZING is the member/driveway camp/fix listing. I met great folks that stayed in my driveway or I helped to fix and get them back on the road.... Become a driveway host and improve the world!
